Found USB modem (which was plugged directly into computer to have both its lights ON and solid green, but computer was unable to establish a connection to it. I removed that modem (VZW USB730L MD# 908-420-6500 and installed a Cradlepoint router with VZW USB730L modem MD#732-258-6366 and comms are now working again.
